Manual Overview
SonicSole is a cutting-edge wearable technology consisting of instrumented insoles designed to capture human movement data with extreme accuracy. This system provides a unique platform for exploring the intersection of biomechanics and sensory feedback.
The project empowers students and researchers to master the fabrication of smart wearables. By building the SonicSole, students gain hands-on experience in sensor integration, real-time data processing, and the application of haptic and musical feedback for gait improvement, i.e. coordinated movement of the body, especially the legs.
The activity follows a structured engineering lifecycle: starting with workspace preparation, moving through four intensive fabrication labs for assembly, and concluding with system calibration. Students will navigate from raw components to a fully functional gait-analysis tool, using a variety of methods such as soldering and gluing.

Project Assembly Outline
1. Instructor Preparation
The instructor will be setting up kit inventory and classroom hardware to ensure all stations are ready for student fabrication.
2. Materials and Lab Set-up
All necessary materials should be acquired, and the server and dashboard are set up.
3. Interactive Labs
Interactive labs give students an opportunity to use the devices and compete against each other in various experiments.
